Abrasive blasting is required to ensure the steel is suitable for galvanizing. It is necessary in the following cases:

•       Lacquered steel
•       Powder Coated Steel
•       Oil Based Paints (Epoxy, 2 pack, Enamel, etc)
•       Heavy Rust

This is due to suboptimal surface conditions causing inefficiencies. Our pre-treatment process is not sufficient to remove coatings/rust, so abrasive blasting is needed.

·      Thickness Requirements (eg HDG900)

Grit Blasting steel of any thickness can achieve a thicker coating by effectively increasing the surface area exposed to the galvanizing process.
